City Center Fire Station FYI

The living quarters at Fire Station 251 in City Center have been closed following an environmental analysis which detected high levels of mold in the building due to water intrusion issues. For the safety and well being of our fire fighters and paramedic personnel, the fire station has been vacated.

Immediate measures-

Unified Fire Authority has instructed all City Center personnel to temporarily use Fire Station 252 in The Ranches for sleeping quarters. Fire and paramedic personnel will utilize city facilities in City Center during the day to mitigate any negative impact to response times. Staffing levels will remain the same.

Long term measures-

UFA is actively working to quickly restore the ability to quarter fire and paramedic personnel at fire station 251 in City Center. City staff are working closely with UFA Environmental, engineering, finance, and administrative staff to resolve this issue as quickly as possible. Fire and paramedic emergency response is a key component of public safety and we take these responsibilities very seriously. If you have any specific concerns, you are welcome to email our public information director Linda Peterson at lpeterson@emcity.org.

We will provide updates as warranted.
