A Clear Conclusion

I apologize for being silent for a while on the subject of the prison. Staff and I have been working hard to compile the report which I am now making available to you here. The report isn’t exactly light reading, so be warned. On the other hand, the report is a comprehensive analysis of the reasons why the proposed prison relocation to the site in Eagle Mountain would be detrimental to the community.  This report has now been distributed to each of the legislators who sit on the Prison Relocation Commission (PRC).  The PRC is meeting again on February 6th at 1:00 PM, and I will be in attendance to represent the City. As always, I encourage you to come to the meeting if you are able. Viewing the agenda online, it does not appear as if the purpose of the meeting is clearly defined.  You may view the report here: Response to Proposed Prison Relocation.

  1. As much as I wish I could be there to support you, I cannot. So I just scan say thank you for all the work you’ve put in to trying to stop the PRC from giving Eagle Mountain a prison.

  2. The extra development costs are a drop in the bucket compared to the money available from selling the Draper land. The city growth is happening away from the prison site and won’t reach the prison for a long time. It looks like plenty of our city tax money through labor went to making that report.
